Abstract
It was a great pleasure to learn that IJMS has been accepted in the eminent MEDLINE database very recently. MEDLINE is regarded as the most important database of the US National Library of Medicine and supports free access to publications through PubMed. Owing to the nature of the meticulous inclusion process, acceptance in the MEDLINE endorses the quality of our journal. The merits of enhanced global visibility of the journal as a valid biomedical resource and being indexed by Medical Subject Heading (MeSH) will provide more readership for the papers. Our recent authors would also benefit from this milestone, as MEDLINE would cover the articles published since January 2021.

During the 50 years’ history of IJMS, it has always served local and international researchers in diverse fields related to medicine. With thanks to all the colleagues that have contributed to the growth of IJMS throughout these years, we are determined to continue this progressive trend through expanding our coverage of state-of-the-art topics in biomedicine and interdisciplinary areas as well as novel and applied research that are informative for our readers. It is also important to note that our broad covered subjects and readership demand to implement more meticulous measures for article selection to ensure publishing articles with higher levels of excellence.
Hereby, I would like to appreciate the timely efforts and devotion of our Editorial Board members, Editors, and the management and executional teams. I am also thankful for the support of our reviewers and authors, which contributed to the rewarding achievement of joining the few Iranian journals indexed in the MEDLINE.
