“Iranian Journal of Medical Sciences” Accepted for Inclusion in MEDLINE

We are pleased to announce that the Iranian Journal of Medical Sciences (IJMS) has been accepted for inclusion in MEDLINE, which is the U.S. National Library of Medicine's premier bibliographic database.

IJMS was already previously indexed in PubMed Central, but MEDLINE is a more selective subset of PubMed, consisting of the top 5200 biomedical journals, and indexing in MEDLINE also means that articles are now also indexed with NLM Medical Subject Headings (MeSH terms) and other metadata. Indexing will begin with Vol 46, N 1, January, 2021. Previous citations remain searchable in PubMed but will not be indexed with MeSH terms.

Selection for MEDLINE is a result of a thorough Scientific and Editorial Quality Assessment of the journal by reviewers from the Literature Selection Technical Review Committee (LSTRC). The LSTRC evaluates journals for MEDLINE based on 5 critical elements, listed in the Journal Selection for MEDLINE.

We congratulate the Editorial Board, Journal Staff, and individuals, who have given their time to peer-review manuscripts, on this success and wish them new achievements on the way of improving the quality and prestige of the journal at the international levels. We also hope that IJMS could provide a medium for all the interested researchers worldwide.
